Job Description

As a Procurement Engineer at our company, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Research & Development (R&D) department. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring efficient sourcing, procurement, and management of materials, components, and services. The ideal candidate for this position should possess a strong technical background, excellent negotiation skills with suppliers, and the ability to manage procurement processes that align with R&D project timelines and cost targets. Your duties will involve strategic sourcing and supplier management, including identifying and onboarding suppliers that meet quality, cost, and compliance standards. You will establish and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers for innovation and cost savings, conduct supplier audits and performance reviews, and focus on continuous improvement. In addition, you will be responsible for procurement and cost optimization by managing RFQs, RFPs, and contract negotiations for R&D procurement. Analyzing costs, identifying savings opportunities without compromising quality, and collaborating with engineering teams to source the right materials and components will be key aspects of your role. Compliance and risk management will also be a crucial part of your responsibilities. You will ensure that procurement aligns with internal policies and industry regulations, identify alternative suppliers to mitigate supply chain risks, and maintain accurate procurement records including contracts and purchase orders. Moreover, collaboration and cross-functional coordination are essential in this role. You will work closely with R&D, engineering, quality, and finance teams, supporting prototype development by ensuring timely material availability. Staying updated on market trends, new materials, and procurement innovations will also be part of your responsibilities. To qualify for this position, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in an R&D, manufacturing, or technology-driven environment. Experience working with R&D teams or in a highly technical procurement role, familiarity with rapid prototyping, new product development (NPD), and supplier innovation programs, as well as technical knowledge, negotiation skills, analytical skills, and communication skills are also required.
