Procurement Assistant

Job Description

Position Overview The Procurement Assistant will help manage the sourcing, purchasing, and tracking of materials, equipment, supplies, and services. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring timely and accurate procurement processes. Key Responsibilities Assist in sourcing suppliers and obtaining quotations Validation and negotiations Preparing comparison statement and appraising to the concerned department and people Prepare purchase orders and maintain accurate purchasing records Monitor order status and follow up on deliveries and timelines Maintain and update supplier databases and procurement files Coordinate with internal departments to ensure procurement needs are met Track inventory levels and alert the team of potential shortages Assist in evaluating supplier performance and compliance Support invoice processing and resolve purchase discrepancies Qualifications Bachelor's in Commerce, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related field 3 to 5 years of experience in a procurement and supply chain Familiarity with procurement or ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) Strong organizational and data entry skills Good communication and negotiation abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively Preferred Qualifications Certification in procurement Experience in [industry-specific experience, e.g., engineering, manufacturing, construction] Knowledge of procurement best practices and basic contract terms
