Role Overview: As a skilled and experienced Principal Officer at Mudrex, you will be crucial in overseeing and managing the company's anti-money laundering and compliance programs to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements of FIU India. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, external stakeholders, and regulators to uphold a robust compliance framework and mitigate potential financial risks effectively. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement comprehensive anti-money laundering (AML) and compliance programs aligning with regulatory requirements and best practices under PMLA, Act, 2002. - Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external auditors in India, ensuring timely and accurate communication and reporting on compliance-related matters. - Monitor changes in AML and compliance regulations, providing guidance and recommendations to the executive team for ensuring regulatory compliance. - Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify areas of non-compliance, implementing corrective measures and controls to mitigate financial risks. - Provide training and guidance to employees on AML and compliance matters, fostering a culture of awareness and accountability within the organization. - Assist in creating, maintaining, and reviewing policies, procedures, and controls to identify, prevent, mitigate, and manage regulatory risk. - Update investment and disclosure documentation in alignment with regulatory, legislative, and business changes. - Prepare board and compliance reports and maintain PMLA records, assisting with regulator correspondence and reporting for the FIU India. - Investigate breaches and incidents, ensuring timely resolution and improvement to the control environment. - Manage the complaint handling process, particularly escalated complaints, and maintain positive relationships with key internal and external parties to promote a compliance culture. - Identify and collaborate with the necessary partners and tools for compliance requirements and perform enterprise-wide risk assessments. - Conduct compliance testing, report results to management, and act as the contact point with local regulators, managing communication effectively and escalating when necessary. - Review alerts, prepare Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs), and respond to FIU India in a timely and effective manner. Qualifications Required: - 8+ years of relevant experience in a legal or compliance role with substantial knowledge of relevant rules and regulations. - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Finance, or a related field; a relevant compliance certification is advantageous. - Experience in a compliance role focusing on anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and global compliance requirements across jurisdictions. - Proven track record in developing and implementing AML and compliance programs within the financial services industry. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. - Proactive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
