We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineer to lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable enterprise applications. This role involves driving full-stack solutions, with expertise in Java, Python, microservices, and cloud-native architectures. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to envision technical solutions, optimize application performance, and mentor engineers while maintaining high standards of code quality. Accountabilities
- Architect, design, and develop enterprise-scale applications using Java 8+, Spring Framework, Hibernate/JPA, and microservices
- Develop Python-based services for automation, integration workflows, and data processing
- Lead technical design, including selection of technologies, patterns, and frameworks for functional and non-functional requirements
- Collaborate with global teams to understand requirements, conduct UAT, and support production rollouts
- Oversee API development and integration using REST, SOAP, GraphQL, WebSockets, and Kafka
- Manage cloud-native architectures on AWS or Azure, leveraging Kubernetes and OpenShift
- Ensure security and compliance through OAuth 2.0, SAML authentication, and best practices
- Mentor and coach team members, review code, and provide constructive feedback
- Conduct POCs and validate design choices to ensure alignment with technical and business goals
Requirements
- 12+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development and architecture
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 8+, Spring (Core/Boot/MVC), Hibernate/JPA, and microservices architecture
- Proficiency in Python for services development, automation, and integration workflows
- Experience with IBM Integration Composer & IBM ODM
- Deep knowledge of APIs and messaging technologies (REST, SOAP, GraphQL, WebSockets, Kafka)
- Strong expertise in JSON and schema evolution
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift)
- Solid understanding of cloud-native application design and enterprise architecture principles
- Hands-on experience with Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment
- Knowledge of SQL with cloud and on-prem databases
- Familiarity with UML, design patterns, responsive design, and modern UI practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a global team environment
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
