Plastics Mechanical Engineer (FULL TIME)

Are you a Mechanical Engineer with strong expertise in plastics?

We are seeking an experienced CAD Mechanical Engineer who can understand design intent, interpret functionality, develop engineering details, and accurately translate complex design forms. We are an innovation-driven start-up with a creative environment focused on meaningful ideas and high-quality product design.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, drafting, and developing product layouts and CAD models based on references such as rough sketches, design input, and recommendations. You will be an integral part of the creative and engineering development process. The right individual must be collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable validating design decisions while making necessary refinements. In addition, you will identify design issues, structural failures, and resolve challenges to support further development and manufacturing.

Profile:

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Deliver final CAD models and technical drawings suitable for manufacturing.
• Work independently and confidently with 3D modelling software.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Possess thorough knowledge of mechanical components and functionality, with high attention to detail; familiarity with basic electrical systems is a plus.
• Approach challenges with innovation and persistence; ability to meet deadlines and exceed expectations.
• Perform digital model verification and prototype testing; identify design flaws and recommend improvements.
• Prepare technical documentation such as equipment data sheets, specification documents, and design calculations.
• Explain drawings, designs, and scope of work to vendors and construction teams when required.
• Review and analyse vendor technical proposals and communicate design requirements clearly.
• Show enthusiasm for continuous learning and creative growth beyond core responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Prior experience in design model fabrication.
• 2+ years of industry experience.
• Strong understanding of mechanical parts, assemblies, and CAD systems.
• Excellent time management, planning, and progress reporting abilities.
• Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and 3D modelling.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and open to exploring new work-related software.
