Job Purpose:

To manage all HR activities at the plant level including recruitment, employee relations, statutory compliance, training & development, time office functions, and support continuous improvement of workforce productivity and morale, ensuring alignment with company policies and industrial laws.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Recruitment & Staffing

  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment for blue-collar and white-collar roles in the plant.
  • Work with line managers to define manpower requirements.
  • Manage onboarding and induction programs for new joiners.

2. Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Maintain harmonious industrial relations with workmen and unions (if applicable).
  • Conduct employee engagement activities and grievance redressal mechanisms.
  • Address disciplinary issues, manage domestic inquiries, and implement corrective actions.

3. Compliance & Statutory Requirements

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws – Factories Act, ESIC, PF, Gratuity, etc.
  • Liaise with government and labor authorities.
  • Maintain records and documents for audits and inspections.

4. Training & Development

  • Identify skill gaps and arrange technical and behavioral training.
  • Drive safety, 5S, and lean manufacturing training programs.

5. Payroll & Time Office Management

  • Monitor attendance, leave, overtime, and shift rosters.
  • Coordinate with accounts/payroll for salary processing.
  • Manage contract labor and ensure adherence to wage and benefit guidelines.

6. Performance Management

  • Implement the performance appraisal system.
  • Support managers in setting KPIs and tracking performance.
  • Identify and manage poor performance cases.

7. HR Administration

  • Maintain employee records and HRIS data.
  • Handle employee communication, policies, and notices.

Key Skills Required:

  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and industrial relations
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and HRIS tools
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure

Educational Qualification:

  • MBA/MSW in Human Resources / Industrial Relations
  • Degree in Law (preferred for IR-focused roles)

Experience Required:

  • 4-7 years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing plant environment
