Position: Physiotherapist

(for Children & Adults with Autism and other Developmental Disabilities)

Reporting to: Program Manager

On-site location: Dwarka, West Delhi


Job Summary:

This is a full-time on-site role for a Physiotherapist located in New Delhi. The Physiotherapist will be responsible for assessing and creating customized treatment plans for individuals with developmental disabilities. Daily tasks include conducting physical therapy sessions, monitoring progress, and adjusting plans as needed. Monitoring includes progress of growth, checks on the range of movements of joints, the strength and flexibility of muscles, the range of functional abilities such as coordination, and the development of physical skills and motor abilities of students.


Key Responsibilities:

·     The ultimate goal is to improve students' physical function, alleviate pain, enhance mobility, and enhance their overall quality of life.

·     Your job involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating students with physical impairments, disabilities, injuries, or conditions that affect their mobility, function, and overall quality of life. 

·     Your job is to use a variety of techniques and interventions to help students regain or improve their physical abilities. 

·     The physiotherapy program designed for a student should be customized to meet the specific needs of the student, to alleviate his or her physiological complaints.

·     Consult with parents to assess their physical conditions and learn more about their symptoms and challenges.

·     Reviewing students’ medical history and referrals, occupational therapists, and teachers.

·     Educating parents and/or their caregivers on injury prevention and how to manage physical conditions at home.

·     Visiting patients at their homes and at other facilities on a limited basis.

·     Keeping detailed students’ records, updating treatment plans when needed, and complying with government physiotherapy regulations.

·     Staying up to date with the latest research and advancements in physiotherapy.

·     Complying with regulations and maintaining high standards of student care.

·     Working with OT & PT team and also with teachers and the program team.

·     Send regular and timely reports as specified by your supervisor.

·     To join the community outreach visit to identify children and young adults and provide our therapies at their homes.


Required Qualifications, skills & experience:

  •  Bachelor of Physiotherapy
  • Valid PT License and certification
  • Experience working with children and young adults with Autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy and other developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of sensory integration therapy, behaviour management techniques, and assistive technology.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and patience.
  • Experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities such as autism
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create and implement customized treatment plans
  • Collaborative skills for working with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Commitment to mentoring families and participating in community awareness initiatives
  • Additionally, the Physiotherapist will participate in community awareness initiatives and training sessions.
