Job Description

Job Title: Post Graduate Teacher – Economics (CIE)

Department: Senior Secondary School
Reporting To: Head of Department / Academic Coordinator / Principal
Curriculum: Cambridge International Curriculum (IGCSE, AS & A Levels)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Economics teacher to deliver high-quality instruction to students pursuing the Cambridge International curriculum at IGCSE and AS/A Level. The ideal candidate will have deep subject knowledge, a student-centered teaching approach, and familiarity with the structure and assessment standards of the CIE syllabus.

Key Responsibilities: Curriculum Planning & Instruction:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons for IGCSE and AS/A Level Economics in line with Cambridge learning objectives.
  • Design teaching materials and strategies that encourage inquiry, critical thinking, and conceptual clarity.
  • Integrate real-world case studies, economic data, and current affairs to enhance subject relevance.

Assessment & Reporting:

  • Develop and administer formative and summative assessments as per CIE standards.
  • Prepare students for external exams through revision classes, mock exams, and exam strategy sessions.
  • Analyze assessment data and maintain records of student progress.

Student Mentoring & Support:

  • Provide individual academic support and mentoring to students with varying levels of understanding.
  • Encourage classroom discussions and debates on economic issues to build analytical and communication skills.
  • Guide students in projects, presentations, and participation in external competitions or events related to Economics.

Professional Development & Collaboration:

  • Stay updated with the latest changes in the Cambridge syllabus and global economic trends.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum planning and interdisciplinary initiatives.
  • Participate in staff development programs, departmental meetings, and parent-teacher conferences.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Postgraduate degree (M.A./M.Sc.) in Economics.
  • B.Ed. or equivalent professional teaching qualification (preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience teaching Economics in the CIE curriculum at the IGCSE and A Level stages.
  • Sound understanding of Cambridge assessment methodologies and marking schemes.

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Excellent subject knowledge in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and International Economics.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Technologically adept, with experience using digital tools for teaching and assessment.
  • Passionate about fostering economic thinking, research, and curiosity in students.
  • Ability to relate economic concepts to real-world scenarios and student experiences.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
