Job Summary:

The Perimeter Implementation Engineer is responsible for the successful implementation and deployment of infrastructure changes focused on Routers and Switches within the enterprise network. This role ensures network changes are delivered on time, meet security and compliance requirements, and align with global architecture standards. The engineer will work closely with release managers, project teams, and operations to execute changes with minimal risk and downtime. 

Responsibilities:

Plan, coordinate, and implement network changes related to routers, switches, and related perimeter technologies. 

Work with engineering and architecture teams to understand the technical requirements and scope of implementation. 

Participate in change management and release cycle processes (CABs, scheduling, documentation). 

Validate pre- and post-implementation network health and connectivity. 

Ensure configurations are compliant with enterprise security standards. 

Coordinate with stakeholders across various teams including security, operations, and project management. 

Document all work performed including configuration changes, implementation guides, and validation steps. 

Support incident resolution if implementation impacts production. 

Required Qualifications:

10+ years of experience implementing perimeter network solutions. 

Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, and related infrastructure. 

Deep understanding of Layer 2/3 networking, VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and access control. 

Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments. 

Solid knowledge of change/release management best practices (ITIL framework is a plus). 

Strong communication and coordination skills for cross-functional collaboration.
