The Security Release Manager is responsible for managing the planning, coordination, and execution of multi-phase, cross-functional security infrastructure implementations and service delivery efforts. This role ensures the timely and compliant release of security solutions into production, coordinating across engineering, project management, and operational support teams. The focus is on firewall, threat prevention, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, proxy services , and other network and endpoint security technologies . This role requires a detailed understanding of information security principles, change management processes, and cross-functional IT collaboration. Key Responsibilities: Manage and coordinate complex, interdependent security infrastructure releases (firewall upgrades, threat mitigation, segmentation rollouts, etc.). Oversee end-to-end delivery, from requirement gathering through production deployment and Day-One support. Collaborate with security engineers, project/program managers, change management, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and readiness. Develop and maintain release plans, impact/risk assessments, calendars, and communication strategies . Lead change request creation, peer reviews, risk assessments, and post-implementation evaluations. Ensure all security implementations comply with internal standards, change policies, and audit requirements. Proactively identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and conflicts across parallel releases. Serve as a key escalation point for security-related change collisions or release failures. Support Change Advisory Board (CAB) activities and governance reviews. Provide clear and timely updates to leadership, stakeholders, and partners on release status, issues, and metrics. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in a technical release, infrastructure, or security operations role.
