Position Purpose

To ensure that all banking applications delivered by BNP Paribas are resilient, scalable and meet defined performance and capacity targets. The role validates both hardware capacity and software design under load, drives optimisation, and raises the overall quality of the performance‑testing practice.

Core Responsibilities

Design & Planning

• Create comprehensive load‑testing strategies aligned with business SLAs and capacity‑planning goals.
• Identify, generate or mask realistic test data sets.

Implementation

• Build and maintain test scripts using Tricentis NeoLoad and LoadRunner.
• Deploy tests on PI applications running on Linux, Tomcat 9+, Spring and OpenShift containers.

Execution & Monitoring

• Run functional, stress, endurance and spike tests.
• Capture key performance metrics (response time, throughput, CPU/memory/network utilisation).

Analysis & Reporting

• Analyse results, produce clear performance reports, and present findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis for failures, log defects, and verify that fixes resolve the issues.

Optimization

• Recommend architectural or configuration changes to improve performance and reduce cost.
• Work closely with development, operations and infrastructure teams to implement and validate suggested improvements.

Team Leadership

• Mentor and coach 2‑4 junior testers, reviewing their work and helping them develop technical skills.
• Promote a proactive, quality‑first mindset across the team.

Stakeholder Communication

• Interact regularly with developers, architects, product owners and business stakeholders to align testing activities with delivery priorities.

Tool & Process Governance

• Keep test environments, scripts and data libraries up‑to‑date.
• Contribute to the evolution of testing standards, best‑practice documentation and integration of performance tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Operating Systems & Platforms:

  Linux, OpenShift, Tomcat 9+, Spring Framework.

• Programming & Database:

  Java (core/enterprise), SQL/PL‑SQL on Oracle‑DB.

• Performance‑Testing Tools (expert level):

  Tricentis NeoLoad, LoadRunner.

• Additional Useful Skills:

  Familiarity with JMeter, Gatling or k6; experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab; knowledge of monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, New Relic).

Experience & Education

• Minimum

  8 years

  of overall IT software QA/testing experience.
• At least

  6 years

  dedicated to load and performance testing.
• Minimum

  6 years

  hands‑on experience with PI applications and architecture (M2C).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Excellent written and spoken English; strong communication skills for interaction with all stakeholder levels.
