About The Opportunity
Join a patient-centered hospital team as an on-site Patient Counselor in Ghaziabad. You will be the primary point of contact for patients and families—offering empathetic guidance, explaining clinical pathways and financial/administrative processes, and coordinating care between clinical teams and support services to deliver a seamless patient experience.Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one counselling for patients and families—explain diagnoses, treatment plans, hospital procedures, and expected timelines with clarity and compassion.
- Coordinate admissions, bed allocation, transfers, and discharge planning with clinical teams, billing, and transport to ensure timely transitions of care.
- Assist patients with paperwork, insurance pre-authorisation, payment options, and government scheme enrolment; escalate financial or administrative issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records in the hospital EHR/CRM; document counselling sessions, consent, and follow-up instructions.
- Respond to patient feedback and complaints—mediate concerns, provide resolutions, and escalate clinical or safety issues to senior staff.
- Work closely with nursing, social work, and specialty teams to arrange post-discharge support, referrals, and home-care coordination.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- Diploma/degree in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Counselling, or related healthcare field.
- 1–3 years of experience in hospital patient counselling, admission coordination, or patient experience roles.
- Strong verbal communication in Hindi and English; comfort interacting with diverse patient groups.
- Demonstrated empathy, active listening, and ability to manage sensitive conversations professionally.
- Familiarity with EHR/EMR or hospital CRM systems and basic computer skills (MS Office/Google Workspace).
Preferred
- Experience with medical insurance pre-authorisation, government health schemes, or patient financial counselling.
- Prior exposure to multi-specialty hospitals or high-volume clinical settings in Ghaziabad or NCR.
