Job Purpose:

Key Responsibilities:

Packaging Development & Design

• Design innovative, user-friendly, and attractive packaging for skincare, haircare, personal care, and colour cosmetics products.
• Create packaging specifications, 3D drawings, BOMs, and artworks in coordination with design teams.

Material Selection & Evaluation

• Select appropriate materials (plastics, glass, laminates, cartons) ensuring compatibility with formulations and shelf-life requirements.
• Conduct compatibility and stability studies with QA, R&D, and production teams.

Supplier Coordination

• Liaise with packaging vendors for sampling, development, and approvals.
• Evaluate and qualify new packaging suppliers as per company standards.

Cost Optimization

• Analyze and suggest cost-effective packaging solutions without compromising quality or aesthetics.

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure all packaging materials and designs meet

  local and international regulatory standards

  (e.g. CPCB, FDA, BIS, sustainability norms).

Testing & Quality Checks

• Conduct transit trials, drop tests, leakage tests, and functionality assessments to ensure robustness and consumer safety.

Sustainability Initiatives

• Drive eco-friendly packaging initiatives aligned with brand sustainability goals (PCR usage, recyclable/biodegradable materials).

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Marketing, R&D, Production, QA, and Procurement teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education:

  Bachelor’s or Master’s in Packaging Technology, Polymer Science, or from IIP.

• Experience:

  2-5 years in packaging development within the cosmetic, personal care, or FMCG industry.

• Skills:

• Strong knowledge of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and decoration techniques.
• Understanding of regulatory and sustainability guidelines.
• Proficiency in design software (ArtiosCAD, SolidWorks, AutoCAD) preferred.
• Excellent project management, communication, and vendor negotiation skills.
