About the Role:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Packaging Manager with 6 to 10 years of experience in the beauty, personal care, and color cosmetics industry. The role involves managing end-to-end development of primary, secondary and tertiary packaging for existing products and new product launches, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery in collaboration with cross-functional teams and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead development of primary and secondary packaging for new product development (personal care & color cosmetics).
• Source innovative primary packaging solutions through strong networks with both international and domestic vendors.
• Organize, conduct, and report on supplier, factory, and transit trials to ensure packaging meets performance and regulatory standards.
• Select appropriate primary packaging materials to ensure compatibility and stability with products as per marketing and product team briefs
• Conduct packaging material testing, including leakage tests and fitment checks for primary packaging.
• Manage and communicate timelines effectively to ensure on-time delivery of all packaging components to manufacturing units.
• Prepare Key Line Drawings (KLDs) and define label specifications in alignment with the chosen primary packaging material.
• Maintain cost calculators for labels, master cartons, and related packaging components.
• Decide master carton specifications based on gross weight and shipping requirements.
• Drive cost optimization through effective negotiation with suppliers and vendors.
• Issue purchase orders (POs) to suppliers and manage procurement processes.
• Oversee the development of artwork for secondary packaging in collaboration with design, product development and marketing teams.
• Provide accurate packaging data to support the creation of new product codes and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Ensure continuous improvement of packaging processes, quality standards, and compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong technical understanding of packaging materials, processes, and testing methods.
• Experience in personal care and/or color cosmetics packaging development.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate costs effectively.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with packaging regulatory requirements and quality standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office; experience with ERP systems and packaging design software is a plus.
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional coordination.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Additional certifications in packaging are an advantage.
