Role Description

Overseas Education Counsellor


Key Responsibilities

  • Counsel students on academic programs, universities, and career pathways in the

    United States

    .
  • Assess student profiles, academic background, and career goals to recommend suitable courses and institutions.
  • Guide students through the end-to-end

    application process

    : university shortlisting, SOP/LOR preparation, application filing, and admission follow-ups.
  • Advise on

    scholarships, funding options, and tuition structures

    .
  • Provide clear guidance on

    US visa requirements, interview preparation, and documentation

    .
  • Maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and university representatives.
  • Achieve monthly/quarterly

    student recruitment and conversion targets

    .
  • Stay updated on

    US higher education policies, visa regulations, and industry trends

    .
  • Participate in education fairs, seminars, and promotional events.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (Education, Management, or related field preferred).
  • Minimum

    2–4 years of experience

    in overseas education counselling, with

    specific expertise in US admissions

    .
  • Strong knowledge of US universities, courses, application systems, and visa processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with students and parents.
  • Goal-oriented with a track record of meeting counseling and enrollment targets.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools for student management.
  • Ability to work in a

    fast-paced, competitive environment

Preferred Attributes

  • Prior experience with

    Day 1 CPT, hybrid programs, or STEM OPT

    pathways (an advantage).
  • Familiarity with education fairs, student recruitment agencies, or institutional partnerships.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and cultural sensitivity.
