Why this role exists
Our market is utilities. They don’t just show up and buy. They need warming, pushing, and proof. Outbound is how we reach them directly and convert queries into booked demos. Demos lead to late-stage opportunities and finally ARR.This role owns outbound. 100%. Your job is to turn named accounts, inbound leads, and RFP signals into qualified demos that sales can close. What you’ll doEvery day
- Work on a set of utility accounts.
- Reach Directors, Billing Managers, CIOs. Not one contact, but 4+ per account.
- Run 3-channel outreach: email, phone, LinkedIn. Keep it smart, not spammy.
- For RFP leads, connect with the evaluator, pitch a quick “requirements fit call,” and surface references.
For every booked demo
- Send agenda, confirm attendees, and align on success criteria.
- Capture pains, blockers, and proof needs.
- Debrief leadership after the call, log CRM fields, and schedule next steps.
Weekly/Monthly
- Keep objections and responses updated (security, integration, price, change risk).
- Track reply rates per persona. Adjust conversation thread and sequences.
- Work with Product Growth Lead on refining cadences, content, and upskilling.
How we measure success
Accounts actively worked: 60–80 at any time. First touch on new leads in
Meeting's set rate: ≥15% of engaged accounts. Demo → SQL conversion: 30–40%. Outbound pipeline sourced: target tied to ARR plan. Sequence reply rate ≥10% (positive intent tracked). MEDDPICC completeness on every SQL: 100%.
Tools you’ll use
- CRM – Pipedrive or similar - single source of truth for all accounts.
- Outbound automation tools – SendGrid, List monk, or similar.
- Sequences & Playbooks – persona-based (Director, Billing, CIO).
- AI Assistants & Automations – for objection handling, sequence and content generation, and Intelligence gathering.
- Communication stack – Gmail, LinkedIn, Zoom, and phone.
- Reference/ROI kits – one-pagers, decks, demo prep packs.
Who you are
- Great communicator — written and spoken English.
- Confident presenter. Can handle silence, objections, and pushback.
- Smart, curious, and result-oriented. You get things moving instead of waiting for delegation.
- We’re looking for candidates who are resourceful and quick on their feet.
- Comfortable with KPIs. You don’t see them as numbers but as proof of impact.
- Experience with outbound tools (bonus).
- Exposure to SaaS, enterprise, or utilities (bonus).
What you’ll learn
- How to run outbound like a pro — account maps, cadences, and discovery.
- How to engage buying committees (multi-threading).
- How to build and execute marketing in a B2B SaaS. (Mind you that this is very rare 😉)
- How demos convert to real revenue in B2B SaaS.
- How to use AI and automation to scale without losing quality.
