About The Opportunity
A clinical role within the Hospital & Clinical Services sector delivering tertiary orthopaedic and trauma care in Western Maharashtra. This on-site position supports high-volume outpatient, inpatient and emergency orthopaedic services—covering trauma, joint replacement, arthroscopy and routine surgical care. We are hiring an experienced, patient-focused Orthopaedic Consultant (MS or DNB) to join the Sangli / Jath team and lead surgical, clinical and multidisciplinary care pathways.Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality clinical care across outpatient clinics, inpatient wards and operating theatres—evaluate, diagnose, and manage orthopaedic conditions end-to-end.
- Perform a broad range of surgeries including fracture fixation, arthroplasty (TKR/THR), arthroscopy and emergency trauma procedures with attention to surgical safety and outcomes.
- Lead perioperative planning: order/interpret imaging, consent patients, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and manage post-op rehabilitation and complications.
- Respond to orthopaedic emergencies and trauma calls; stabilise, triage and execute timely operative interventions when required.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in EMR, contribute to clinical audits, morbidity & mortality reviews and quality-improvement initiatives.
- Mentor junior doctors, trainees and paramedical staff; promote evidence-based protocols and adherence to infection-control & surgical safety checklists.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MBBS with MS (Orthopaedics) or DNB (Orthopaedics) — valid medical registration in India.
- Proven clinical experience in orthopaedic surgery, trauma care and joint replacement (minimum experience as per employer requirement).
- Hands-on expertise in fracture fixation techniques, arthroplasty (TKR/THR) and basic arthroscopic procedures.
- Competence in perioperative management, interpretation of X-ray/CT/MRI and emergency orthopaedic protocols.
- Strong communication skills, patient counselling ability and capability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with hospital EMR systems, clinical governance and participation in audits.
Preferred
- Additional fellowship or certification in arthroplasty, trauma or arthroscopy.
- Experience working in high-volume district or tertiary hospitals, preferably in Maharashtra or similar regions.
- Training in advanced trauma life support (ATLS) and team leadership in emergency settings.
- Research publications, teaching experience or involvement in community outreach camps.
