Job Description

Job Purpose

To lead and manage day-to-day stock broking operations including trade processing, settlements, risk checks, compliance adherence, and client service support. The role ensures smooth and error-free operations while managing and developing a team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operations Management

  • Oversee daily trade processing across equity, derivatives, currency & commodity segments.
  • Ensure accurate and timely order execution, trade confirmations, and back-office processing.
  • Manage pay-in/pay-out of funds & securities, DP operations, and reconciliations.
  • Handle corporate actions processing, payout adjustments, and client-level updates.
  • Ensure margin reporting (EOD/Intraday), pledge/unpledge requests, and collateral management.

2. Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure all processes follow SEBI, NSE, BSE, MCX, CDSL/NSDL, and exchange guidelines.
  • Monitor risk parameters such as exposure, limits, peak margin, and shortfall alerts.
  • Coordinate with auditors (internal/external) and support regulatory inspections.
  • Implement controls to reduce operational errors and mitigate risks.

3. Team Leadership

  • Lead, train, and supervise the operations team to maintain service quality.
  • Allocate work, set performance goals, and monitor productivity.
  • Resolve escalations and cross-coordinate with sales, dealing desk, DP, and risk teams.

4. Client Support & Coordination

  • Support relationship managers and clients for operational issues.
  • Assist in account opening checks (KYC), modifications, and documentation review.
  • Manage escalations related to trades, settlements, fund transfers, and statements.

5. Process Improvement

  • Identify gaps and optimise operational workflow for faster turnaround.
  • Assist in automation projects, system enhancements, and new product rollouts.

Key Skills Required

  • Strong understanding of stock broking operations
  • Knowledge of SEBI guidelines, exchange rules, DP operations
  • Experience in settlements, back-office systems & OMS/RMS platforms
  • Excellent team management & leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Good communication & stakeholder coordination skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Education

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Finance, Commerce, or related fields
  • NISM Series certifications (Equity, Derivatives, Depository Operations) preferred (Advantage)
