Job OverviewThe Operations Manager-2 will drive operational excellence across key functions of the business, ensuring efficient execution of processes, optimizing resources, maintaining quality, and meeting targets. This role will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams and ensuring that daily operations align with the companys strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities1.
Operational Strategy & Planning
- Develop, refine, and implement operational strategies, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) aligned with organizational goals.
- Translate strategic objectives into operational plans, set KPIs, and monitor performance.
- Identify process bottlenecks and propose improvements, automation, or reengineering.

Day-to-Day Operations Management
- Oversee daily operations across departments (production, supply chain, logistics, customer service, etc.), ensuring targets are met.
- Monitor key metrics (productivity, efficiency, cost per unit, cycle times, quality, etc.).
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (HR, Finance, IT, Sales) to ensure seamless workflow.

Resource & Budget Management
- Prepare and manage the operations budget; track expenditures, optimize costs, and enforce budgetary discipline.
- Allocate resources (manpower, materials, equipment) optimally to meet demand fluctuation.
- Forecast demand, plan capacity, and ensure inventory management.

Quality, Compliance & Risk Management
- Define and enforce quality standards, conduct audits, and initiate corrective / preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, safety, and environmental norms.
- Identify operational risks, develop mitigation plans, and respond to disruptions.
5.
Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, coach, mentor and manage the operations team; set goals, conduct performance reviews, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Identify talent gaps, coordinate hiring, and training for operations staff.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration, communication, and accountability.
6.
Vendor / Supplier Management
- Manage relationships with vendors, negotiate contracts, evaluate performance, and ensure timely deliveries.
- Monitor vendor SLAs (service level agreements) and quality metrics.
7.
Reporting, Analytics & Continuous Improvement
- Prepare regular reports and dashboards for senior management (e.g., weekly, monthly performance).
- Use data analytics to derive insights, spot trends, and recommend process enhancements.
- Lead initiatives in lean, Six Sigma, automation, or other process improvement frameworks.
8.
Customer / Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (sales, marketing, product) and external stakeholders (customers, partners) for operational alignment.
- Address escalations or process issues affecting customers or deliverables.
