About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Node.js Backend Developer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in building scalable, high-performance backend systems using Node.js, with hands-on experience in APIs, microservices, and database integrations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy backend services that power our applications at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Node.js and related frameworks (Express.js, NestJS, etc.).
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Work with databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis for data storage and caching.
• Implement authentication/authorization (JWT, OAuth) and ensure security best practices.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following industry standards.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues in production and non-production environments.
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend developers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of backend systems.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and cloud-based infrastructure.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience in Node.js backend development.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and asynchronous programming concepts.
• Experience with frameworks like Express.js / NestJS.
• Hands-on experience with databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis).
• Understanding of microservices architecture and API development.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and deployment tools (Docker, Kubernetes, PM2).
• Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Chai).
• Knowledge of Git/GitHub/GitLab for version control.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, and time complexity.

Good to Have

• Experience with TypeScript.
• Knowledge of GraphQL.
• Exposure to Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging queues.

Soft Skills

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, Agile environments.
• Ownership mindset with attention to detail.
