Job Description

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or Telecommunications. Certifications such as CCNA / CCNP preferred. Basic understanding of networking (L2/L3 concepts, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, routing, switching). Familiar with SNMP, Syslog, API integrations, and monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Zabbix, etc.). Exposure to ITSM tools (ServiceNow, ManageEngine, Remedy, Similar Tools). Knowledge of RHEL, Ubuntu, VMs, Hypervisors, Databases and simlar environments. Strong communication, analytical, and documentation skills. Willingness to work in 24x7 rotating shifts.

Key Responsibilities: Monitor health, alarms, and performance of all SNOC devices and applications (routers, switches, servers, storage, NIPS, EMS, etc.). Acknowledge and triage alarms, validate severity, perform first-level troubleshooting, and escalate to L2 as per SOP. Perform basic network checks such as ping, traceroute, and interface status verification. Verify link, service, or device reachability and determine fault domain (local/systemic). Restart services or devices as per authorization—servers, switches, applications, or VMs. Validate SNMP traps, ensure trap receivers and monitoring tools are functional. Conduct daily and weekly health checks: CPU, memory, interface utilization, storage usage, and service availability. Monitor field-side equipment like GP routers, blade chassis servers, power strips, and environmental sensors. Support VM and hypervisor operations: snapshots, reboots, simple restore operations. Perform first-level OS support (RHEL, Ubuntu): verify service status, review system logs, check disk usage. Monitor electrical and environmental systems (UPS, battery, DG, PAC, biometric, video wall) and raise alerts on deviations. Manage ticket lifecycle in ITSM: create, update, assign, and close incidents according to SLA. Document actions and maintain accurate incident and resolution logs. Build and update the ITSM knowledgebase with recurring fault scenarios and known issue resolutions. Generate periodic reports on alarm trends, recurring incidents, uptime, and SLA compliance. Perform proactive sanity checks across NMS, ITSM, routers, servers, and other SNOC infrastructure to detect early anomalies. Maintain shift handover logs, share updates with next shift, and ensure operational continuity. Coordinate with L2 engineers, vendors, and field technicians for issue resolution and updates. Follow approved escalation matrix and maintain communication discipline during incidents. Participate in shift rotations (24x7 operations) and maintain adherence to uptime and quality KPIs.
