- Network Monitoring:
- Use network monitoring tools to track uptime, latency, and packet loss for Fortnite servers and related infrastructure.
- Respond promptly to alerts and service requests.
- First-Level Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose basic connectivity issues (e.g., DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP problems).
- Follow predefined scripts and escalation protocols for unresolved issues.
- Configuration Assistance:
- Assist in deploying and configuring network hardware/software under senior engineer guidance.
- Maintain accurate network documentation and schematics.
- Incident Management:
- Log incidents in ticketing systems and escalate complex issues to L2/L3 teams.
- Communicate status updates to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Routine Maintenance:
- Perform scheduled checks, apply patches, and verify network health.
- Support game updates and maintenance windows to minimize downtime.
- User Support:
- Provide basic technical assistance to internal teams and game operations staff.
- Help troubleshoot connectivity issues for live events or seasonal updates.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Basic understanding of networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs.
- Familiarity with tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, or similar monitoring platforms.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 gaming environment.
Preferred Certifications
- CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA.
- Exposure to cloud networking (AWS, GCP) is a plus.
Soft Skills
- Customer service orientation.
- Attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Security).
