Network Engineer

Role: Network Engineer Job type: Full time Location: Verna - Goa Industry: Manufacturing Key Responsibilities: 1. Network Infrastructure Management - Design, install, and maintain the network infrastructure (LAN/WAN) across production floors, control rooms, and administrative areas. 2. Monitoring and Troubleshooting - Continuously monitor network performance using tools and diagnose network issues to minimize production downtime. 3. Cybersecurity Implementation - Implement firewalls, IDS, and access control policies to protect OT networks and segregate IT/OT systems. 4. Connectivity for Smart Manufacturing - Integrate IIoT devices, PLCs, SCADA, and smart sensors securely using industry-standard protocols. 5. Uptime and Redundancy Management - Configure redundant network paths and failover systems to ensure uninterrupted operations. 6. Vendor and Asset Coordination - Coordinate with vendors for hardware, AMC, and manage a register of network assets. 7. Compliance and Documentation - Ensure compliance with standards like ISO 27001 and maintain network diagrams and change logs. 8. Wireless Network Management - Manage industrial Wi-Fi for mobile devices and optimize performance in challenging environments. 9. Support and Training - Provide support to IT staff and train line personnel on basic network troubleshooting. 10. Support for Cloud and Remote Access - Implement secure VPNs and enable cloud connectivity for applications like SAP or CMMS. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or Electronics Engineering, CCNA/CCNP or equivalent certifications preferred. Proven experience in managing enterprise-level networking infrastructure Ability to quickly assess complex network problems and determine root causes, especially during production-critical issues. Precision in network configurations, documentation, and security setups to prevent downtime or vulnerabilities. Takes full responsibility for network uptime and issue resolution, including proactive maintenance and timely escalation. Comfortable working in dynamic manufacturing environments with changing technologies, production needs, and shift schedules. Can explain technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders and coordinate with cross-functional teams like maintenance, IT, and production. Show more Show less
