National Sales Manager (Generics Division)

Department: Sales & Marketing
Location: Delhi

Job Summary:

The National Sales Manager (NSM) is responsible for overseeing the entire sales operations across the country for the generics division. The role involves driving sales growth, managing regional sales teams, developing strategies to expand market share, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders including distributors, hospitals, and pharmacy chains.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement national sales strategies to meet revenue and profitability goals in the generics segment.
  • Monitor and analyze sales trends, market conditions, and competitors' activities.
  • Drive the achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product management teams to ensure product positioning and promotion are aligned with sales objectives.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and manage Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), Area Sales Managers (ASMs), and field force.
  • Set performance expectations, conduct regular reviews, and implement training and development programs.
  • Foster a performance-driven culture through motivation and reward systems.

Channel & Key Account Management

  • Build and maintain relationships with major distributors, stockists, hospitals, and pharmacy chains.
  • Negotiate terms of trade, pricing strategies, and promotional activities.
  • Ensure optimal product availability and visibility across distribution channels.

Market Intelligence & Compliance

  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and ensure sales practices comply with local pharmaceutical laws and company policies.
  • Collect and interpret market data to make informed strategic decisions.
  • Coordinate with regulatory and quality assurance teams for timely product launches and lifecycle management.

Reporting & Coordination

  • Provide regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance updates to senior management.
  • Work closely with supply chain, finance, and regulatory departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Oversee product launches and promotional campaigns across regions.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Strategic thinking and analytical ability
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • In-depth knowledge of the generics pharmaceutical market
  • Proficiency in sales forecasting, CRM tools, and MS Office

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, with at least 5-6 years in a leadership role in generics

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹125,000.00 per month
