Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Motor Underwriter, based in Kochi. The Motor Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating insurance applications, assessing risk, determining coverage eligibility, and setting premium rates for motor insurance policies. Key tasks include analyzing client background information, working with internal teams to develop optimal underwriting practices, monitoring industry trends, and ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

Strong underwriting skills in motor insurance, including risk assessment and setting premium pricing
Analytical abilities, attention to detail, and decision-making skills
Knowledge of insurance regulations and familiarity with compliance standards
Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in industry tools and software for underwriting
Ability to work in a fast-paced, on-site environment
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field is preferred
Prior experience in motor underwriting and a professional insurance certification (such as ACII or CPCU) is an advantage
