Roles & Responsibilites

·       Conduct DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) reviews.

·       Support prototype development, trials, and pilot runs.

·       Coordinate with mould designers for mould concept, design review, and validation.

·       Review mould flow analysis (Moldflow) results and recommend improvements.

·       Ensure proper gating, cooling, venting, and ejection system design

·       Act as the point of contact between customer & the tool room to ensure mold is built as per agreed design & specifications

·       Support mould trials (T0, T1, T2) and troubleshoot mould-related issues.

·       Troubleshoot defects such as short shots, warpage, sink marks, flash, burn marks, and flow lines.

·       Establish robust process parameters using scientific moulding techniques.

·       Implement DOE (Design of Experiments) for process improvement.

·       Support PPAP, APQP, FMEA, and Control Plan activities

·       Support customer technical discussions and engineering change management (ECN/ECR).

·       Maintain R&D records, lessons learned, and best practices.

·       Knowledge of engineering plastics

·       Hands-on experience with mould trials and troubleshooting

·       Drive cost reduction initiatives through material, cycle time, and process improvements.

·       Improve OEE and overall manufacturing efficiency

Ideal candidate profile:

·       5–10 yrs experience in mold development & tool room coordination (auto plastics preferred)

·       Hands-on exposure to mold trials & modifications

·       Strong understanding of injection molding processes
