Key Responsibilities:

● Responsible for electronic and print media monitoring

● Summarising media reports daily

● Understanding and assessing the client's requirements for monitoring and analysis

● Coordination with different team members daily for monitoring and analysis

● Research data through primary and secondary research

● Source and follow up on news relevant to the overall defined objectives of the organisation

● Should be able to manage a huge amount of data, analyse drafts and deliver final reports

● Should be open to working extended hours and flexible to adapt to the tasks assigned

● Should be able to coordinate and work with multiple teams

● Draft press releases, briefings, etc, as and when required.

Skillset Requirements:

● The candidate should be a local of the region

● The candidate should be proficient in Assamese (read, write, and speak) and have a basic understanding of English

● Graduate/Diploma in Journalism, Mass Communications and other allied fields

● Understanding and working knowledge of electronic media & media houses, print media and digital media players in the country, along with the ability to analyse, interpret and apply media research

● Good reading, writing and analysis skills

● Good Proofreading & editing skills

● Reasonable level of proficiency in Google/MS Office tools, Google Docs, Spreadsheets, MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint

● Good at time management and organisational skills with an attention to detail

● Highly motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

The Field Political Analyst will play a crucial role in providing real-time political intelligence and qualitative inputs from the ground. The role requires rigorous fieldwork, local media monitoring, and assisting in data collection and translation to support strategic decision-making.

The candidate must have a deep understanding of local political dynamics and constituency-level issues while maintaining an unbiased and neutral approach.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Qualitative Research & Fieldwork: ● Conducting extensive field visits, FGDs, IDIs and developing a detailed sub-assembly level understanding ● Providing real-time feedback on on-ground political developments, party activities, and local issues ● Identifying emerging political trends and potential escalations in the constituency ● Monitoring local media coverage to assess political narratives and stakeholder sentiments

2. Data Collection & Analytical Support: ● Sourcing past electoral results, caste equations, and voting trends in the constituency ● Assisting in data collection, manual data entry, and cleaning tasks to ensure accuracy ● Translating local inputs and reports from Bengali to English or Hindi, as required

3. Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination: ● Facilitating contact-building for Assembly In-Charges (AICs) and Zone In-Charges (ZICs) ● Helping in identifying key influencers, grassroots leaders, and community stakeholders ● Coordinating with local sources and field teams to ensure timely information flow

Skillset Requirements:

● The candidate should be a local of the region

● The candidate should have a good political knowledge and understanding of West Bengal

● The candidate must have good networking skills and experience in doing on-ground liaisoning and/or survey work for NGOs or similar organizations will be an added benefit

● The candidates must have a graduate degree qualification from a reputed university in West Bengal

● The candidate should preferably have a laptop (smartphone would be a must) and have working-level knowledge of basic IT applications like MS Office and Google spreadsheets

● The candidate should be alert and diligent in following processes and timely reporting

● The candidate should be open to challenging working hours (6-7 days of working in a week)

● The candidate should be comfortable in extensive traveling and must own a two-wheeler (or any other transport vehicle)

● The candidate should be proficient in Bengali (read, write, and speak) and have a basic understanding of English

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to ₹35,000.00 per month
