Opportunity in the Industrial Engineering & On-site Mechanical Services sector supporting manufacturing, process, and heavy-equipment customers across India. We deliver installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance and urgent breakdown support for critical mechanical assets—ensuring uptime, operational safety and cost-effective lifecycle management.Role: Mechanical Service Engineer (On-site) | Location: India (On-site, client sites)Role & Responsibilities
- Perform installation, commissioning and routine preventive maintenance of mechanical equipment (pumps, compressors, gearboxes, conveyors, valves and rotating assemblies) at customer sites.
- Respond to breakdowns and execute rapid root-cause analysis, corrective repairs and temporary fixes to restore operations with minimal downtime.
- Execute welding, alignment, shaft coupling, bearing replacement and mechanical assembly tasks to OEM and engineering specifications.
- Read and act on P&IDs, mechanical drawings and work orders; coordinate with electrical/controls teams for integrated troubleshooting.
- Manage spares, prepare detailed service reports, maintain maintenance records and recommend lifecycle or reliability improvements.
- Comply with site safety protocols (Permit-to-Work, LOTO), represent the company on-site and maintain professional customer communication.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- Diploma/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 3+ years' hands-on field service or maintenance experience.
- Proven experience with rotating equipment, alignment, bearings, seals, pumping systems and basic fabrication skills.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, ability to read P&IDs/technical drawings and deliver clear service reports.
Preferred
- Experience in process industries (Pump Installation services.)
- Familiarity with hydraulics/pneumatics, basic PLC/controls coordination and vendor commissioning procedures.
- Valid driving license, willingness to travel to client sites and work flexible hours for urgent service calls.
