Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Position Overview

Sonish Equi-Chem Industries is seeking a skilled “Mechanical Design Engineer” to join our team at our Madkai, Goa facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, documentation and technical management of mechanical projects, playing a key role in ensuring quality and efficiency throughout the development process. 

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design and development of mechanical components using 2D/3D modeling software (AutoCAD, Fusion 360).

- Prepare and manage detailed technical drawings, schematics, and specifications for mechanical projects.

- Generate and manage Bills of Materials (BOM) for projects.

- Ensure proper documentation and drawing management, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company processes.

- Work closely with suppliers and vendors to define and ensure adherence to quality and technical requirements.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in mechanical design and processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Proficiency in AutoCAD for both 2D and 3D modelling.

- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, including technical documentation, BOM management, and quality assurance.

- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

- Experience in managing drawing archives and engineering documentation.

- Good communication skills to liaise with internal teams, clients, and suppliers.

Experience

- Minimum of 1.5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering.

Location

This position is based at our Madkai, Goa facility. Local candidates are preferred.
