Job Title: Mechanical Data Scientist

Location: Hyderabad

About the Role:

We are looking for a dynamic and interdisciplinary AI/ML Researcher with a mechanical engineering background to join our R&D team in Hyderabad. In this role, you will apply machine learning and data-driven methods to solve engineering challenges related to mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, predictive maintenance, and system optimization. This is a unique opportunity for someone passionate about bridging the gap between mechanical engineering and artificial intelligence.


Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement AI/ML algorithms for mechanical engineering applications such as:

o Predictive maintenance

o Condition monitoring

o Process optimization

o Thermal/fluid/structural system modeling

• Analyze engineering data from sensors, machines, or simulation results to derive insights and build predictive models.

• Use tools like Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, MATLAB for model development and deployment.

• Work with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into mechanical or manufacturing systems.

• Validate models using real-world or experimental datasets and continuously improve model accuracy and reliability.

• Prepare research reports, technical documentation, and support patent or publication initiatives.


Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or Mechatronics, with additional experience or training in AI/ML/Data Science.

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in applying machine learning to mechanical or engineering systems.

• Proficiency in Python, with experience in ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn.

• Familiarity with signal processing, time series analysis, or simulation data (e.g., CFD/FEA outputs).

• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals in thermal, fluid, vibration, or structural domains.

• Ability to work with large datasets, data preprocessing, and model deployment.


Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in digital twins, smart manufacturing, or IoT-based condition monitoring.

• Exposure to real-time systems, edge computing, or AI in embedded systems.

• Knowledge of tools like MATLAB/Simulink, Ansys, or SolidWorks in combination with ML models.

• Publications, patents, or conference presentations in AI for mechanical systems.
