About the Role:

Design Engineer

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for taking complex aerospace concepts from requirements to realization, ensuring they meet performance, reliability, and mission-critical standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the mechanical design and development of components and subsystems for space systems (e.g., satellite structures, payload housings, thermal enclosures, brackets).
  • Work closely with systems engineering, thermal, and manufacturing teams to ensure integration, performance, and manufacturability.
  • Perform detailed 3D modeling and drafting using tools such as

    CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo, or Siemens NX

    .
  • Conduct tolerance stack-up, thermal-structural evaluations, and material selection appropriate for space environments.
  • Support design verification through simulation (FEA), analysis (hand calculations), and design reviews.
  • Interface with suppliers and manufacturing partners for prototyping and production.
  • Prepare technical documentation including 2D drawings, BOMs, interface control documents, and test reports.
  • Participate in design reviews, failure investigations, and continuous product improvement efforts.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5–10 years of experience in

    mechanical design for aerospace/space systems

    .
  • Strong knowledge of

    space-grade materials

    , design for launch loads, and environmental constraints (thermal, vibration, radiation).
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., CATIA V5/V6, Siemens NX, or equivalent).
  • Understanding of space system standards such as

    NASA, ISRO, ECSS, or MIL-STD

    .
  • Experience with GD&T, DFM/DFA, and structural analysis (FEA using tools like ANSYS, NASTRAN, or Abaqus).
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working on ISRO, NASA, or private space programs.
  • Knowledge of satellite system architecture or launch vehicle interface requirements.
  • Familiarity with additive manufacturing or lightweight structural design for space.
