Position Title: Manager – Technical & Maintenance
Department: Maintenance & Utilities
Reporting To: Maintenance Head
Job Purpose:
To support the maintenance function by planning, implementing, and monitoring preventive & breakdown maintenance activities, ensuring statutory compliance, optimizing maintenance costs, and enhancing equipment efficiency for smooth plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare, implement, and monitor preventive and breakdown maintenance schedules.
2. Review equipment breakdowns, analyze performance issues, and suggest improvement plans.
3. Maintain historical records of equipment, including troubleshooting guidelines and diagnostic charts.
4. Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement preventive measures.
5. Control maintenance costs by monitoring utility consumption, spares usage, and optimizing resources.
6. Coordinate with service providers and statutory bodies (Boiler Inspectorate, Electrical Inspectorate, BESCOM, KSPCB, etc.).
7. Plan procurement of spares and consumables, and ensure inventory control.
8. Support audits from customers and certifying bodies; prepare compliance reports.
9. Coordinate with production for prioritizing maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.
10. Train and guide newly recruited technicians and upskill existing staff.
11. Inspect, install, and commission new equipment.
12. Conduct plant & equipment safety audits and participate in Safety Committee meetings.
13. Drive automation, energy-saving initiatives, and sustainable practices within the plant.
14. Ensure upkeep of the overall plant and machinery to support continuous production.

*Strong problem-solving & decision-making skills
*Proactive, flexible, and multi-skilled approach
Additional Skills Required:
*Proficiency in MS Excel
*Local language proficiency (Kannada – Mandatory)
*Experience in handling on-roll workers
Knowledge of statutory regulations:
*Factories Act
*KSPCB (Pollution Control Board) Regulations
*The Electricity Act, 2003
*Boiler & Pressure Vessel Regulations
Education:
B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering
Experience:
10+ years of experience in plant maintenance, preferably in manufacturing/FMCG/food industry
