Job Description

The Manager / Senior Manager – Projects & CAPEX will be responsible for planning, execution, and monitoring of capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects across manufacturing plants and project sites. The role involves end-to-end project management including budgeting, vendor coordination, engineering execution, commissioning, and post-implementation review, ensuring projects are completed within scope, cost, and timelines while meeting safety and quality standards.


Responsibilities


Project Management

  • Plan, execute, and monitor greenfield, brownfield, and expansion projects.
  • Prepare detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Ensure timely execution of projects in line with approved CAPEX plans.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Production, Maintenance, Finance, SCM, EHS).


CAPEX Planning & Control

  • Prepare annual CAPEX budgets and long-term investment plans.
  • Evaluate technical and financial feasibility of new projects and investments.
  • Monitor CAPEX utilization, cost control, and variance analysis.
  • Ensure proper documentation, approvals, and compliance with company policies.


Engineering & Execution

  • Finalize technical specifications, layouts, BOQs, and scope of work.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and OEMs for execution.
  • Oversee installation, erection, commissioning, and handover of assets.
  • Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and statutory norms.


Vendor & Contract Management

  • Support vendor selection, techno-commercial evaluation, and negotiations.
  • Manage contracts, work orders, and contractor performance.
  • Resolve execution issues and ensure timely completion of milestones.


Skills & Competencies -

  • Strong knowledge of

    project management, CAPEX planning, and execution

  • Experience in

    manufacturing / engineering / heavy industry projects

  • Budgeting, cost control, and contract management expertise
  • Excellent coordination, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Familiarity with

    MS Project / Primavera / ERP systems

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) -

  • On-time and within-budget project delivery
  • Effective CAPEX utilization and cost savings
  • Compliance with safety, quality, and statutory requirements
  • Successful commissioning and operational handover


Qualifications


  • B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering
  • MBA / PGDM (Operations / Project Management) – preferred
  • 10–18 years

    (Manager: 10–14 years | Senior Manager: 15–18 years)
  • As per project / plant requirement (with travel to sites, if applicable)
