Job Description

The Manager Physital Marketplace will lead the strategic management and growth of BharatCares hybrid retail ecosystem combining e-commerce platforms and physical outlets
This role involves overseeing marketplace operations, product sourcing, inventory management, vendor partnerships, branding, and sales strategy to strengthen visibility and outreach for artisan, SHG, and community-based products
Responsibilities
 
1Marketplace Strategy & Operations
  • Lead end-to-end management of BharatCares online marketplace and physical retail outlets
  • Develop business strategies to enhance reach, visibility, and sales of social enterprise products
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams for website updates, product uploads, and digital campaigns
  • Manage SKU optimization, cataloging, and order fulfillment across both online and offline channels
2 Vendor & Partner Management
  • Onboard and manage artisans, SHGs, rural entrepreneurs, and small producers for marketplace integration
  • Facilitate quality assurance, pricing strategy, and training for vendors to meet market standards
  • Build partnerships with logistics providers, packaging suppliers, and retail collaborators
3 Branding & Marketing
  • Develop and execute branding, merchandising, and visual identity strategies for physical outlets and digital stores
  • Coordinate with the communications team for marketing campaigns, product storytelling, and social media promotion
  • Plan and organize pop-up events, exhibitions, and marketplace activations to boost visibility
4Inventory & Store Management
  • Oversee inventory control, stock movement, and vendor payouts
  • Optimize display, layout, and product experience within physical outlets
  • Track sales performance, consumer feedback, and develop plans for category growth
5Business Development & Reporting
  • Identify opportunities for revenue generation, partnerships, and expansion into new geographies
  • Prepare periodic MIS, sales analytics, and performance reports for management review
  • Ensure compliance with financial, procurement, and operational policies
Mandatory Qualification and Experience:
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce operations, retail management, and supply chain logistics
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work with diverse artisan and community groups
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities
  • Proficiency in Excel, ERP tools, inventory systems, and e-commerce platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce, etc)
Qualifications & Experience:
  • masters degree in Business Management, Marketing, Retail Management, or related field
  • 5 8 years of experience in e-commerce, marketplace management, or retail operations
  • Prior experience in managing hybrid retail setups (online + offline) preferred
  • Experience in social enterprise, livelihood, or rural entrepreneurship initiatives is desirable
