  • Responsible for managing day to day network operations and maintenance governance, in the respective areas of Network DWDM/OTN backbone network. Responsible to track the team the action items based on improvement areas by analyzing the current performance of the network and present management and customer with actionable and track the progress. As a part of responsibility, he is expected to cordination with O&M team in NOC and field for improving network health. The person is required to work on collecting, processing, taking approvals and track the deliveries. Partner governance to be done as per agreed terms to improve the performance against defined service level agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain infrastructure necessary for the growth and upkeep of field and network operations to drive network efficiency and availability.
  • Manage new enhancements/issue resolution.
  • Work with NOC and equipment vender for fixing the repeat issues.
  • Create reports on performance management as per defined SLAs with customer. Highlight to management if there is deviation.
  • Identify day to day manual activities, repeat tasks and leading the effort to automate them.
  • Escalate internally in case there is timeline miss from cross functional team
  • Track and monitor the environment performance to ensure minimal interruption to network transmission nodes and site.
  • Manage network equipment maintenance and security operations for all sites.
  • Guide FO team in terms of technical aspects related to network
  • Performing repair and maintenance and restoring service for optimal customer satisfaction
  • The role may be an individual contributor or may lead a small team.
Desired Skill sets
  • Ø Very Good knowledge of Transmission technologies like SDH/DWDM/Ethernet. Understanding of OSNR upkeep, fiber loss reasons and good understanding of impacts due to fiber reflection
Ø Good knowledge of Infrastructure set-ups in Transmission POP’s.
Good knowledge of fiber and maintenance practices.Ø Familiar in troubleshooting OSP/ISP and Infra Issues.Troubleshooting experience of network, equipment and service level faults
  • Ability to write and present a comprehensive vulnerability assessment report.
  • Understanding of domain and related technologies
  • Understanding manual testing techniques and methods to gain a better understanding of the environment and reduce false positives/negatives.
