JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Key Account Manager
Function/Department: Sales & Distribution
Grade/Level: Manager – RL2
Location: Chennai

1. Job Purpose
  • Handle customers in strategic segments – Auto, Lift & Elevator.
  • Serve as Key Account Manager for major OEM customers such as Kone and Johnson.
  • Drive developmental activities in Auto, Lift & Elevator segments.
  • Retain and grow share of business with key customers with an aim of achieving 5% YoY growth.
  • Increase sales volume by ensuring material availability through BPR model monthly planning aligned with forecasted demand.
  • Manage customer accounts in the assigned segments as a key account manager.

Achieve sales & collection targets; retain and increase share of business
Monthly sales targets (Tons); Monthly collection targets (Crores)

4. Key Decisions
  • Customer rating and credit assessment to ensure financial arrangements for monthly production plans.
  • Monthly product bucket planning based on consumption patterns and market demand.
  • Maintaining POP inventory levels as per segment norms.
  • Tracking and reporting competitor activities and pricing trends (MIS).

5. Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
Educational Qualification
  • Engineering Graduate (Mechanical or Metallurgy preferred)
  • Engineering + MBA is an added advantage
Experience
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in steel industry sales
  • Experience in handling OEM or B2B industrial customers is desirable
