Job Title: Senior Transformer Design Engineer Location: Vadodara Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Transformer Design Engineer with over 8 years of hands-on experience in the design, development, and testing of power and distribution transformers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of transformer design principles, industry standards (IEC, ANSI, IEEE), and proven project execution capabilities. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of oil-immersed and dry-type transformers up to [specify voltage/power range, e.g., 132kV or 50 MVA]. Create and review detailed electrical, thermal, and mechanical designs including core, winding, insulation, cooling systems, and tank design. Perform electrical calculations such as short circuit impedance, no-load and load losses, temperature rise, inrush current, dielectric stress, etc. Oversee the preparation of technical documentation including GA drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), and test plans. Interface with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality assurance, procurement, and testing teams to ensure designs meet customer and production requirements. Support tendering and proposal activities with accurate design inputs, cost estimation, and technical clarifications. Ensure compliance with international standards (IEC, ANSI, IEEE, ISO) and customer specifications. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in transformer design to enhance efficiency, reduce cost, and improve reliability. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with R&D and innovation teams on new materials, processes, and digital tools for transformer design optimization. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems or related field). Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in transformer design and engineering.
