Job Purpose / Overall Objective:

Job Summary

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving sales growth, expanding market presence, and developing strategic partnerships for the company’s liquor portfolio. The role focuses on distributor management, channel expansion (Off-trade), key account handling, and achieving volume and value targets in the assigned territory and take lead of his team.

Roles and Responsibilities

Sales & Market Development

· Identify and develop new business opportunities in the assigned territory.

· Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets (volume & value).

· Expand market reach across Off-trade (retail, modern trade) channels.

· Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and market trends.

Distributor & Channel Management

· Appoint, manage, and motivate distributors and wholesalers.

· Ensure effective distribution, visibility, and availability of brands.

· Conduct regular market visits and joint calls with distributor sales teams.

· Manage distributor performance, credit control, and stock rotation.

Key Account Management

· Develop relationships with key accounts such as premium bars, hotels, and retail chains.

· Negotiate listings, promotions, and volume contracts.

· Ensure proper brand placement and merchandising.

Brand Promotion & Activation

· Execute brand activations, tastings, promotions, and events in line with marketing plans.

· Coordinate with marketing teams for ATL/BTL activities.

· Ensure brand guidelines and compliance with local liquor laws.

Reporting & Compliance

· Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and market intelligence.

· Ensure compliance with state excise laws and company policies.

· Manage pricing, schemes, and discount structures within approved limits.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
  • 3–7 years of experience in liquor/alcoholic beverage sales or FMCG
  • Proven experience in distributor and key account management
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the territory

Preferred Experience

· Experience with spirits / wine / beer portfolios

· Strong network in the hospitality and retail liquor trade

· Exposure to premium or super-premium brands

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month

Work Location: On the road
