Job Description – Automation Maintenance Engineer (Robotic Assembly) Position Title: Automation Maintenance Engineer – Robotic Assembly Department: Maintenance – Assembly Operations Reports To: Maintenance Manager Major Roles & Responsibilities 1. Preventive Maintenance Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on robotic assembly equipment. Ensure optimal machine performance, reliability, and longevity. Reduce downtime through proactive maintenance practices. 2. Troubleshooting and Repairs Diagnose and repair breakdowns in robotic systems. Conduct PLC troubleshooting and resolve communication issues between different PLCs. Perform corrective actions to restore equipment to full operational status promptly. 3. Vision System Maintenance Maintain and troubleshoot vision systems utilized for quality inspections and automation tasks. Ensure consistent accuracy and performance of the vision systems on the assembly line. 4. Drive Systems Maintenance Maintain and troubleshoot industrial drive systems including Siemens Drives and SEW Drives. Ensure smooth and efficient operation of motors and motion control equipment. 5. Sensing Devices Management Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot various sensors (e.g., proximity, photoelectric, ultrasonic, capacitive sensors). Ensure all sensing devices function correctly for safe and accurate operations. 6. Electrical Hoists Maintenance Conduct routine maintenance and repairs of electrical hoists used in assembly operations. Ensure hoist systems meet safety and operational standards. 7. Documentation and Reporting Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance tasks, including preventive and corrective maintenance, part replacements, and downtime logs. Update maintenance history for audit and continuous improvement purposes. Required Skills & Qualifications Diploma/BE/B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or a related field. 3–8 years of hands-on experience in automation maintenance, especially with robotic assembly lines. Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting (Siemens/Allen Bradley) and drive systems. Experience in maintaining vision systems, robotic equipment, and industrial sensors. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams. Familiarity with safety standards in industrial environments.
