Role Responsibilities Manage mainframe storage systems to ensure optimal performance and availability. Implement and monitor data backup and recovery processes to safeguard critical information. Optimize storage solutions based on performance metrics and capacity needs. Conduct routine performance tuning of storage systems to enhance efficiency. Develop and maintain technical documentation related to storage processes and configurations. Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution to mitigate data loss risks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve storage-related issues. Assist in capacity planning to forecast future storage requirements. Monitor system alerts and proactively address potential issues. Coordinate with vendors for support and maintenance of storage systems. Ensure compliance with all relevant data protection regulations. Conduct training sessions for staff on storage best practices. Evaluate new storage technologies and recommend upgrades as needed. Report on storage system performance and recommend improvements. Support end-users with storage-related inquiries and issues. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Proven experience as a Mainframe Storage Administrator or similar role. Strong knowledge of mainframe storage architectures and management. Experience with data backup and recovery solutions. Familiarity with performance tuning techniques for storage systems. Understanding of disaster recovery planning and execution. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work well in a team and facilitate collaboration. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in technical documentation and reporting. Knowledge of relevant data protection regulations. Experience with monitoring and alerting tools. Vendor management experience is a plus. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Willingness to stay updated with emerging storage technologies.
