Ensure timely supply of dies, tools, lubricants, and consumables to the shop floor. Track material usage and scrap generation for planning and cost control. 4. Logistics & Transportation Coordination Plan and oversee inbound and outbound logistics (raw materials and finished goods). Coordinate with transporters and third-party logistics providers. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements like e-way bills, GST, and export documentation if applicable. 5. Quality Compliance & Documentation Ensure raw materials and purchased components meet technical and metallurgical standards. Maintain records of MTCs (Material Test Certificates), inspection reports, and supplier quality ratings. Coordinate with the Quality department on supplier evaluations. 6. Cost Control & Optimization Monitor procurement costs and seek cost reduction opportunities. Optimize inventory turnover and reduce non-moving stock. Analyze supply chain KPIs such as delivery performance, cost per ton, and lead times. 7. ERP & Data Management Use ERP systems (like SAP, Oracle, Tally ERP) for purchase, inventory, and dispatch tracking. Generate supply chain reports, dashboards, and variance analyses. Maintain accurate records for internal audits and customer traceability. 8. Cross-Functional Coordination Liaise with Design, Production, Quality, and Finance teams to support project timelines.
