Logistics Operations Specialist 1

Summary of the Role:

The Senior Logistics Operations Specialist will serve as the single point of contact for Supply Chain Operations in Dahej, Gujrat, including warehousing and inbound/outbound transportation activities. This role ensures seamless coordination across all operational areas including inventory control, material movement, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

The position will lead the entire warehouse operation, providing guidance and support to Logistics Operation Specialists. Strong operational leadership, stakeholder management, and process improvement skills are essential to drive efficiency and achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Warehouse Operations Supervision

• Serve as the single point of contact for all operational deliverables, issue resolution, and overall SCM operations at Dahej.
• Manage daily warehouse activities, including inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Optimize workflows to improve productivity and reduce operational costs.
• Collaborate closely with the Warehouse Operations Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of all activities.

2. Team Coordination

• Provide guidance and mentorship to Logistics Operation Specialists
• Support manpower planning, shift scheduling, and workload balancing.
• Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across the team.

3. 3PL Management

• Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, ensuring contract compliance and service excellence.
• Monitor 3PL performance metrics such as order fulfillment, transportation, and warehousing efficiency.
• Resolve operational issues with 3PL partners promptly and effectively.
• Collaborate with 3PL providers to implement best practices and cost-saving initiatives.

4. Inventory Control & Management

• Maintain 100% inventory accuracy through robust controls and timely updates.
• Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain accuracy.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment to avoid shortages or excess.
• Implement measures to minimize shrinkage, damage, and waste.

5. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to workplace safety regulations and company policies.
• Conduct regular inspections to maintain a clean, hazard-free environment.
• Train staff in safety protocols and proper equipment handling.
• Comply with all regulatory requirements related to warehousing and logistics.

6. Process Improvement & Reporting

• Identify operational gaps and implement process improvements for efficiency and cost reduction.
• Maintain accurate records of warehouse activities, including shipments, returns, and damages.
• Generate and analyze reports on inventory levels, order fulfillment rates, and operational KPIs.

Requirements:

Education & Certification

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree required; Supply Chain or Logistics specialization preferred.
• Professional certifications in warehouse or supply chain management are an advantage.

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in warehouse operations, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role managing blue-collar teams
• Proven experience in manpower planning and team coordination.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse processes, inventory control, and 3PL management.
• Proficiency in SAP and MS Office tools.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
