Legal Officer

As a Junior Lawyer at Buzznation, a leading US based events company, you will play a crucial role in providing legal support to various departments. Your focus will be on handling event contracts, intellectual property rights, licensing, compliance, and general commercial matters. Key Responsibilities: - Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to events such as vendor agreements, sponsorship deals, performer contracts, and venue agreements. - Provide legal support on intellectual property matters including copyright, trademarks, and licensing. - Conduct legal research and offer guidance on regulatory and compliance issues affecting the events industry. - Assist in managing legal disputes and collaborate with external counsel when required. - Ensure compliance with relevant laws such as health and safety regulations, data protection laws, and labor laws. - Review marketing materials and promotional content to ensure legal compliance. - Maintain accurate and organized legal documentation and records. - Provide general legal advice to internal teams including event managers, marketing, and operations. - Assist in the preparation of legal documents and reports. Qualifications: - Hold a law degree (LL.B or equivalent) and be qualified to practice law. - Possess at least 3 years of experience in a legal role within corporates or law firms. - Strong understanding of commercial contracts and legal frameworks. - Knowledge of intellectual property laws, data protection, and event regulations is advantageous. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. - Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. - Demonstrate a proactive, self-motivated attitude with the capability to work independently and as part of a team. - Show enthusiasm for the events industry with a desire to learn and grow in this field.
