Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. Contract Management
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements (vendor, distributor, marketing, logistics, service, and supply contracts).
Standardize contract templates and maintain a contract management system.
Ensure alignment of business terms with company policies and risk appetite.
2. Regulatory & Compliance
Advise on applicable laws and regulations in FMCG, such as Legal Metrology, FSSAI, Consumer Protection, Advertising Standards, Packaging & Labeling Rules, etc.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and assist in regulatory filings.
Liaise with external counsel, regulatory bodies, and government authorities when required.
3. Litigation & Dispute Management
Manage and coordinate litigation, arbitration, and consumer disputes.
Represent the company in pre-litigation negotiations and settlements.
Maintain a tracker of ongoing and potential disputes with analysis of exposure and status.
4. Corporate Governance
Support secretarial and corporate governance matters in collaboration with the Company Secretary.
Review board resolutions, policies, and internal governance documents.
5. Business Partnering
Partner with sales, marketing, procurement, HR, and operations teams to proactively identify legal risks and propose solutions.

Provide training and legal awareness sessions to internal stakeholders.
