What you’ll be responsible for?

1. Legal Risk Management:

● Identify, assess, and manage legal risks across the company's pan-India operations.

● Develop and implement strategies to mitigate legal risks in collaboration with business

units.

● Provide legal advice and support to senior management on various legal issues.

2. Regulatory Compliance:

● Navigate and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks in the education and

healthcare sectors across different countries.

● Monitor changes in laws and regulations that could impact the company and advise on

necessary adjustments.

● Liaise with regulatory authorities and external counsel as needed.

3. Business Collaboration:

● Work closely with business leaders to understand their objectives and provide legal

guidance that aligns with business goals.

● Facilitate effective communication between the legal function and other departments to

ensure integrated risk management.

4. Team Leadership and Management:

● Lead, mentor, and manage a team of legal professionals, fostering a collaborative and

high-performance culture.

● Allocate resources effectively to ensure timely and accurate legal support.

● Encourage continuous professional development within the legal team.

5. Contract Management:

● Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts and agreements to protect the

company's interests.

● Ensure that all contractual obligations are met and manage any disputes that arise.

6. Litigation and Dispute Resolution:

● Manage litigation and dispute resolution processes, including liaising with external legal

counsel.

● Develop strategies to resolve disputes efficiently and minimize legal exposure.

An ideal candidate should have:

● Being an entrepreneur at heart so as to effectively collaborate with the business

● Ready to get in the mud and be hands-on

● Analytical and problem-solving skills

● Strong communication & interpersonal skills

● Experience in similar role in a growth stage startup managing legal and regulatory risk
