Legal Manager

Overview of the Job :

The Legal Manager is responsible for providing essential legal guidance, ensuring the company's compliance with laws and regulations, and managing potential legal risks and disputes to protect the organizations interests. His/her key duties include advising senior management, drafting and reviewing legal documents such as contracts, managing litigation, and overseeing corporate governance to maintain legal integrity and support business objectives.

Key Role :

• Overseeing legal issues within the organization and providing legal advice. Managing legal matters related to real estate and construction projects, including drafting and negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and offering legal advice on property acquisitions, development, and construction activities.
• Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing legal agreements, contracts, and policy documents, particularly with Government clients.
• Maintaining the organizations legal health by ensuring compliance across all aspects and reducing
• Handling disputes and litigation related to real estate, construction, and other group companies, including oil and gas, engineering, and shipping businesses.
• Drafting agreements, contracts, bonds, affidavits, and responses to legal notices and Government correspondence.

Qualifications :

• Professional qualification such as LL.B. or LL.M., with a minimum of 10-12 years of hands-on experience in real estate and construction law, particularly under the Indian Contract Act.
• Strong understanding of real estate transactions, construction contracts, and regulatory compliance
• The knowledge of all the Legislations as applicable to the company viz. Company law, Labour laws, general Legislations
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills (both written and oral), with proficiency in the English language.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines across a diverse business environment.

Competencies Required :

• Expertise in real estate law and construction law, including the Real Estate (Regulation & Development) Act 2016 (RERA).
• Contract negotiation under the Indian Contract Act.
• Regulatory compliance knowledge.
