About Cresera
Cresera is an early-stage Web3 startup building a shariah-compliant Web3 ecosystem. We are at the beginning of our journey and are assembling a founding technical team to design, build, and scale our core Web3 infrastructure from the ground up.
This role is ideal for Web3 engineers who enjoys ownership, responsibility, and hands-on building, and who wants to play a key role in shaping both the product and the technical direction of the company.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Lead Web3 Engineer to build our Web3 stack. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining production-grade decentralized systems, starting with BNB Chain as our first deployment network.
As a founding team member, this role requires strong technical depth, clear communication, and a high level of commitment. You will work closely with founders and other team members, contribute to architectural decisions, and help establish engineering standards as the team grows.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Architecture
- Design the end-to-end Web3 architecture across smart contracts, backend services, and integrations.
- Lead development of non-custodial Web3 products, including:
- Wallets
- Decentralized exchanges (DEXs)
- Lending and staking protocols
- Other DeFi primitives such as prediction markets (preferred).
- Build and deploy smart contracts on BNB Chain, with the ability to extend to other EVM-compatible and non-EVM networks.
- Make informed decisions around security, scalability, upgradeability, and gas optimization.
Hands-on Development
- Write, test, and review high-quality, production-ready code.
- Implement best practices for smart contract security, testing, and auditing readiness.
- Debug and resolve complex issues across smart contracts and supporting systems.
- Collaborate with backend and frontend engineers to ensure smooth integrations.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with founders, product, and other team members to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Clearly explain technical concepts and decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Participate in internal and external discussions, presentations, and technical reviews.
- Represent the engineering function in meetings and discussions as the company grows.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on Web3 / blockchain development experience.
- Proven experience building and shipping production Web3 applications, particularly:
- Non-custodial wallets
- DEXs
- Lending and staking protocols
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with smart contract development using:
- Solidity (required)
- Additional languages such as Vyper, Rust, or Move
- Deep understanding of:
- EVM internals
- Smart contract security patterns and vulnerabilities
- Gas optimization and performance considerations
- Experience building on multiple networks, including:
- BNB Chain (required)
- Ethereum and other EVM-compatible chains
- Exposure to non-EVM chains is a plus
- Familiarity with Web3 tooling, libraries, and frameworks (e.g., Hardhat, Foundry, Truffle, ethers.js, web3.js).
- Experience integrating smart contracts with backend systems and APIs.
Communication & Collaboration
- Strong verbal communication and public speaking skills.
- Comfortable presenting technical ideas, architecture, and decisions to different audiences.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in small, fast-moving teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building or contributing to:
- Prediction markets or other advanced DeFi protocols
- Cross-chain or multi-chain systems
- Open-source contributions to Web3 projects.
- Previous experience working at a well-known or large-scale Web3 company or protocol is a strong plus.
- Prior experience as a founding engineer or early employee at a startup.
- Exposure to security audits or formal verification processes.
