JOB ROLE- Linux + HPUX +Unix

Location

Experience required

Required Technical Skills

Administration of Linux distributions (RHEL, SLES, Ubuntu): user management, service control, package management, log review, and networking.
HP-UX 11i v3 administration: LVM management, Ignite-UX provisioning, swinstall/swlist package management, APA networking.
Strong Unix fundamentals, including ksh/bash scripting, POSIX tool usage, and service management.
Storage management expertise: LVM (Linux), HP-UX LVM, and filesystem operations (ext4, xfs, VxFS).
Basic operations of HP-UX ServiceGuard: cluster/package lifecycle management and health checks.
Patch management experience: DNF/YUM/APT for Linux and HP-UX patch bundles.
Backup and restore operations, including familiarity with tools like NetBackup or BRMS and knowledge of tape/media handling.
Experience with monitoring platforms (Nagios/NRPE, SNMP) and alert workflow tuning.

Must-Have

Level 2 operations proficiency in Linux/Unix environments: user and service management, log analysis, filesystem tasks, and package updates, with ownership of incident triage and restoration within defined SLAs.
Experience in HP-UX administration: knowledge of HP-UX 11i v3 basics, LVM operations, Ignite-UX provisioning, swinstall/swlist usage, and APA networking.
Expertise in storage and filesystems: safe expansion and shrinkage, fsck and repair, performance tuning across LVM, XFS, ext4, and VxFS, with thorough change validation and rollback preparedness.

Good-to-Have

Automation skills: development and use of Ansible playbooks for routine changes such as user and package management, checks, and adoption of infrastructure as code practices.
Monitoring and reporting experience: integration with NRPE/SNMP, development of capacity trend dashboards, and familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, or other enterprise monitoring solutions.
