LEAD LINKAGE - WCL, SCCL

Purpose/Objective

The Lead Linkage role is pivotal in ensuring seamless coal supply chain operations for the Cement business unit. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing coal allocations and logistics from subsidiaries to plants, leveraging digital technologies to enhance operational efficiency. The role directly supports the business unit’s commitment to sustainable and efficient operations, aligning with Adani Group’s broader mission of nation-building and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities of Role

- Strategically plan and manage monthly coal allocations in coordination with coal companies (MCL, NCL, CCL, ECL, SCCL) to meet plant requirements. - Establish and maintain effective communication with key stakeholders, including CIL, Indian Railways, logistics partners, administration, and third-party testing agencies. - Ensure leak-proof logistics of coal from subsidiaries/sidings to plants, utilizing advanced digital technologies for tracking and optimization. - Develop and maintain comprehensive data management systems and MIS for coal operations, ensuring accuracy and accessibility of information. - Monitor and analyze coal supply chain performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions. - Collaborate with internal teams to align coal supply strategies with production schedules and business objectives. - Drive initiatives to enhance supply chain sustainability, aligning with the Cement business unit’s green energy and decarbonization goals. - Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards across all coal logistics activities. - Lead cross-functional teams to resolve operational challenges and improve overall efficiency. - Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on coal linkage and logistics performance. Domain Expertise - In-depth knowledge of coal supply chain operations, including allocation, logistics, and stakeholder coordination. - Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in coal logistics and supply chain management. - Experience in implementing digital tools and technologies for operational efficiency. Digital & Operational Tools - Proficiency in supply chain management software and digital tracking tools. - Familiarity with data analytics platforms for performance monitoring and decision-making. - Knowledge of digital technologies used in logistics optimization and MIS development. Leadership Capabilities - Strong strategic planning and decision-making skills to drive coal supply chain efficiency. - Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships. - Excellent communication and negotiation skills to align diverse interests and achieve business objectives. - Demonstrated ability to implement innovative solutions and drive continuous improvement in operations.

Qualifications and Experience

Required Qualifications & Experience - Minimum of 7 years of experience in coal supply chain management, logistics, or related fields. - Proven expertise in stakeholder coordination, including government bodies, logistics partners, and third-party agencies. - Demonstrated experience in leveraging digital technologies for supply chain optimization. Educational Background - Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field. - Advanced certifications in supply chain or logistics management are preferred. Years & Type of Experience - 7+ years of experience in managing large-scale coal logistics and supply chain operations. - Extensive experience in stakeholder management and operational planning within the cement or related industries.
