We are looking for an experienced Lead Cloud Engineer specializing in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with a strong background in application development. In this role, you will take ownership of designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud-based solutions while providing technical leadership to teams. Responsibilities Design and implement scalable and reliable cloud-based solutions using GCP while adhering to established cloud architecture standards Develop and deploy Java applications leveraging GCP-native services such as GKE, Cloud Run, Firestore, Cloud SQL, and Pub/Sub Create detailed application architecture designs aligned with enterprise standards Select appropriate GCP services to meet functional and non-functional requirements Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of GCP PaaS, serverless, and database services Provide technical guidance and leadership to development and infrastructure teams throughout the project lifecycle Ensure all cloud solutions meet security and compliance requirements Continuously optimize cloud solutions for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency Keep up with the latest advancements in GCP technologies and industry best practices Explore and work with GCP GenAI solutions like Vertex AI and Gemini models Leverage front-end technologies like Angular or React when applicable Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Over 5 years of hands-on experience as a Cloud Engineer or in a similar role At least 1 year of experience leading and managing technical teams Extensive experience in building, deploying, and maintaining applications on GCP Expertise in GCP services such as GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Firestore, Firebase, Apigee, and App Engine Familiarity with GCP AI tools like Vertex AI and Gemini Code Assist Knowledge of GCP services like Memorystore, Service Mesh, and Cloud Monitoring Strong understanding of cloud security principles and experience implementing security measures in GCP environments Comprehensive knowledge of cloud architecture principles and best practices Experience with DevOps practices and automation tools such as Terraform Proficiency in English at a B2 level or higher, both written and spoken Nice to have Experience with large-scale data processing and analytics on cloud platforms Familiarity with multi-cloud environments and hybrid cloud strategies Background in mentoring and training team members on cloud technologies and best practices We offer International projects with top brands Work with global teams of highly skilled, diverse peers Healthcare benefits Employee financial programs Paid time off and sick leave Upskilling, reskilling and certification courses Unlimited access to the LinkedIn Learning library and 22,000+ courses Global career opportunities Volunteer and community involvement opportunities Opportunity to join and participate in life of EPAM's Employee Resource Groups EPAM Employee Groups Award-winning culture recognized by Glassdoor, Newsweek and LinkedIn Show more Show less
